The case of a Shan girl was gang raped by SSPP militant warriors has been leaked on social media within last week.
The incident was reportly committed in Mark Moung Lurng village (မက်မုံလိန်ကျေးရွာ) which is between Mong Yai township and Kho Long, Wan Pong village (ဝမ်ပုံကျေးရွာအုပ်စု) group during Shan buddhists holy Dapaung festival.
In photos, a Shan girl was naked, lying down on the grass while two SSPP militant warriors were forcebly having sex. Photos were also recorded by one of the militant warriors while his friends were committing.
Five SSPP members who have committed this crime are Sai Harn Aung (age 18), Sai Tun Sein (age 16), Sai Sein Mg (age 16), Sai Leng (age 23) and Sai Sarm Tun (age 20) according to another SSPP member personal Facebook account named Tai Tang Yan. The post has been removed today.
Two criminals were reportly released as they were not involved in gang rape according to that Facebook account. However, they were the only witnesses there.
Shan held agency for news which has close relationship with SSPP reported in Shan langauge, then in Burmese. Nevertheless, SSPP seems to have got shares in Mekong news agency which didn’t report the case.
Mekong news agency which is linked with SAC military intelligence, spreading propaganda and employing ethnic reporters for absorbing news from different ethnic groups.
SSPP’s political wing SNLD has remained silent on human rights violations of SSPP happened around Shan state since 2021.
This leak follows after a Shan man from Phong Hseng village, Hopong township was set on fire, tortured and killed.
Since 2021, at least 21 civilians have been tortured and killed by SSPP soldiers according to one of the ceasefire monitoring data records.
Oversea Shan Patriotic Network spokesperson Nang Mawk Hom who is outside the country urges media to record and disclose wisely all violence against women and rape cases.
